A study of US service members confirmed that those with back pain recovered better if their treatment program incorporated chiropractic care. This was published in JAMA Network Open in May, 2018.

Official guidelines for treating lower back pain

This aligns with the official guidelines published by the American College of Physicians recommending the inclusion of spinal manipulation in the care of back pain. Sadly, although chiropractic care is suggested as part of the “official guidelines” that medical doctors are encouraged to follow, it’s rare that a medical doctor recommends chiropractic.
