Medical Breakthrough Most Doctors Ignore

Simple Principle + Artful Application
= Dramatic Results

He was only in his late twenties, so he couldn’t understand why he woke up with such intense left chest pain.

He called his medical doctor, who urged him to come in later that day.  He was all set to undergo chest X-rays, an electro-cardiogram, and the other tests used to rule out a serious heart condition.

Fortunately, he also called me.

I saw him later that morning.  The pain in the left side of his ribcage was unbearable.  He winced taking a deep breath.  Bending or lifting anything was impossible.

It was a lucky thing I’d seen this same condition many times before, or I would have been worried about him too.

The problem wasn’t in his heart and lungs.  The joints of his spine were locked and jammed, and the muscles overlying them were full of knots.   Fortunately, these are factors which can be addressed with the gentle application of spinal manipulation or mobilization.

Twenty-five minutes later he was ready to leave my office.  Half his pain had disappeared.   But even more dramatic was that he was able to move his spine freely.  And he could take a deep breath without pain.

What are the chances that his medical doctor was going to conduct a thorough physical examination of the spinal joints, the ribs, and the muscles that move them?  If he had, would he have had the experience to detect the presence of an altered pattern of intervertebral joint play?  And would he have been astute enough to refer the patient to a qualified chiropractor?

Examination and treatment of the motion of the spinal joints is a basic aspect of healthcare. I work with it many times each day. Yet it is almost completely ignored by the typical medical doctor.

The spinal joints are designed to allow movement to flow freely from one vertebra to the next.  When the biomechanics of this motion is thrown off, the pain can be intense.  The muscles have to work twice as hard to try to create a semblance of normal motion, so they develop spasms and knots.  To make matters worse, the nervous system is thrown off-balance too.

That’s why, even when you‘re not in pain, the mobility of your spinal joints plays a big role in your overall health.  Because once your nervous system is thrown off, the basic ability of your body to self-regulate takes a hit.  That’s when your immune system and all your organs are most vulnerable to illness.

Fortunately, fixing this type of problem is one of the things doctors of chiropractic are expert in.

Make sure your doctor is aware of this important scientific advance in health care.
