Dr. Lavine and the Natural Treatment of Chronic Pain

Dr. Lavine has spent more than 35 years in research and development of natural methods to alleviate chronic pain.

His gentle and effective methods are based on the latest scientific models of the processing of pain signals in the brain, and the ways that the pain experience can be altered through the strategic introduction of novel tactile and kinesthetic input.

An unhurried consultation and physical examination can determine if you’re likely to benefit from these methods.   There are three main components of treatment:

  • NeuroTactile ™ Therapy, a well-established form of manual therapy used extensively in Germany (where it’s known as Bindegewebsmassage), though little known in the United States.
  • Craniosacral therapy, among the lightest forms of hands-on treatment to alleviate pain and stress of the connective tissues and calm the sensory nerve endings embedded in them.
  • Gentle therapeutic movement and body awareness exercises.

This combination of movement and hands-on therapy has proven itself to be effective for many hundreds of patients over the course of Dr. Lavine’s more than 35 years of clinical experience.
